The Meaning:

It's a poem about how life has those times when most reveal something you wish to see and some you don't wish ever happened. The light doesn't reveal the truth, in most situations, but doing your best will try to make it make more sense. So somehow, during the night, we find the true meaning of everything when the darkness comes while we sleep. This darkness hid some ominous things that ended up not really hurting us and most thought the day time was better since the brightness was there but really that was just a cover up, in reality it has those painful truths. Then when a time comes when you want something, you impatiently wait for night and not even be feared by it. As a child we think the night isn't was we all need but as time goes on we tend to change our minds into a direction that makes us see that something we use to not enjoy is better now. Also during the night the truth could be forgotten or proven false.

The Story Of My Life.

My name is Emily Elizabeth Dickinson born in Amherst, Massachusetts on December 10, 1830. I've had friends as a child but later on during my life, I've started to isolate myself to force on my poems and thoughts. Writing my feelings out into poetry was my passion. Most of my friendship, I would write to them letter's. But eventually I stopped speaking to them, only my dear sister, Lavinia Norcross. I wrote about 2,000 poems and only 7 were published that I've selected. As time went on I stop speaking to my sister and I didn't speak to anyone at this point. I've began to feel ill later on in my years and one day a doctor wanted to examine me. But I didn't accept his hospitality that he provided. This then lead to my death on May, 15 1886.
